46-Year-Old Man and 14-Year-Old Female Arrested in Louisiana During Traffic Stop After Drugs and Firearms Were Allegedly Found in Vehicle

St. Bernard Parish, Louisiana – A 46-year-old man and a 14-year-old female were arrested in Louisiana after a traffic stop. The man was charged with multiple drug possession and weapons charges, while the female was charged with escape and violence toward officers. During the investigation, drugs, firearms, and other illegal substances were recovered.

St. Bernard Parish Sheriff James Pohlmann reported that a New Orleans, Louisiana man, and a 14-year-old female were arrested on a variety of charges following a traffic stop in Arabi, Louisiana early Friday morning.

Robert Taylor, 46, of New Orleans, was charged with illegal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, illegal possession of a firearm while in possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession with intent to distribute cocaine, possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine, possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, possession with intent to distribute MDMA Ecstasy, possession with intent to distribute Suboxone, possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, possession with intent to distribute MD

A 14-year-old Gretna girl who was a passenger in Taylor’s vehicle and was listed as a missing juvenile was arrested and charged with attempted simple escape, simple escape, resisting an officer by force or violence, and refusal to identify.

Sheriff Pohlmann stated that on Friday, January 27, shortly after 3 a.m., Field Operations Bureau Patrol Division deputies on patrol in the Arabi area attempted to pull over a gray 2016 Kia Soul seen traveling at a high rate of speed as it entered St. Bernard Parish near Angela Street.

Taylor, the driver, initially eluded deputies before coming to a stop in the 7500 block of Patricia Street.
During the traffic stop, deputies detected a strong marijuana odor emanating from the vehicle’s interior.
Deputies discovered the 14-year-old female hiding under blankets in the front seat after searching the vehicle.

The female juvenile attempted to flee after refusing to identify herself to deputies. Deputies took her into custody after a brief struggle.

During the investigation, deputies reportedly found two small bags and one larger bag containing a total approximate weight of 13.65 grams of cocaine and fentanyl; seven small bags and one large bag containing a total approximate weight of 9.46 grams of crack cocaine and fentanyl; 23 tablets of MDMA Ecstasy and fentanyl, 23 packages of Suboxone, one bottle of liquid Promethazine, 20 capsules of Acetaminophen and Oxycodone

A Taurus G2C.9mm handgun was also recovered by deputies.

Taylor’s criminal history was checked, and it was discovered that he has an active warrant out of Jefferson Parish for battery, is a convicted felon with a lengthy criminal record, and is on active parole in New Orleans for various narcotics and weapons charges.

A search was also conducted for the female juvenile, who was discovered to be a missing juvenile from Gretna.
Taylor was taken to St. Bernard Parish Prison, while the 14-year-old female juvenile was taken to the St. Bernard Parish Juvenile Detention Center to be booked on the charges listed above.
The Sheriff stated that the investigation is ongoing.
