45-Year-Old Louisiana Woman Killed in Head-On Crash on US 65
Lake Providence, Louisiana – On Thursday, February 9, 2023, Louisiana State Police (LSP) reported that LSP Troop F responded to a two-vehicle collision on U.S. Highway 65 north of Lake Providence at around 3:45 p.m. This collision took the life of Casi E.B. Blaylock, 45, of Epps, Louisiana.
The early investigation found that Casi E.B. Blaylock was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Monte Carlo northbound on U.S. Highway 65. Concurrently, a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado traveled south. The Monte Carlo reportedly crossed the center line, entered the Silverado’s lane, and collided with it head-on for circumstances that are currently under investigation.
Blaylock, who was restrained, sustained fatal injuries and was subsequently transferred to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The properly restrained driver of the second vehicle had moderate injuries and was transferred to a nearby hospital for treatment.
At this time, impairment is unknown; however, routine toxicological samples have been submitted for study.
Although the specific reason for the accident is still under investigation, State Troopers would want to warn the public that distracted and inattentive driving is extremely dangerous and a leading cause of accidents in our state. In order to maintain vigilance, it is essential for drivers to pay close attention to what is occurring outside their car and to receive sufficient rest.
Troop F has investigated four catastrophic crashes resulting in four fatalities so far in 2023.
