44-Year-Old Louisiana Man Arrested For Allegedly Setting Fire to a Home Endangering a Nearby Home with Three Inside

Madison Parish, Louisiana – A 44-year-old man from Louisiana has been arrested for allegedly setting fire to a home, which put a nearby home containing three people in danger.

The Louisiana State Fire Marshal’s Office (LASFM) said on May 15, 2023, that it had arrested a Tallulah, Louisiana man for allegedly setting fire to one house, endangering a nearby home with a family of three inside.

Michael Robinson, 44, of Tallulah, Louisiana, was arrested on three counts of Attempted 2nd Degree Murder and one count each of Aggravated Arson, Simple Arson, and Criminal Trespass on Sunday, May 7.

Tallulah Fire Department responded to a call of a house fire in the 400 block of Oughbourne St. in the early morning hours of May 7. The property was vacant, but the flames endangered a residence in the 200 block of E. Oughbourne St., about 25 feet away from the burning house. A mother and her two children were inside when the fire started, but they were able to escape safely.

Deputies found the fire started in the living room and was intentionally ignited after assessing the area and taking witness testimony.

Robinson, who was staying in the house without the owner’s consent, was identified as a suspect in the case after additional investigation.
On the 7th, Robinson was apprehended with the assistance of the Tallulah Police Department.
