43rd Annual Men’s City Golf Championship at Mallard Golf Club in Lake Charles Announced

Lake Charles, Louisiana – The City of Lake Charles announced on August 19, 2022, that the 43rd Annual Men’s City Golf Championship will be held at Mallard Golf Club from Friday, September 9, 2022, to Sunday, September 11, 2022.

This year’s event is co-sponsored by Bolton Ford and Abell & Son, and it is the first time the championship has been held since 2019, and the first time it is being played at the all-new Mallard Golf Club. This year’s winners will be awarded crystal trophies once again.

“Prior to the events of 2020 and 2021, the Men’s City Golf Championship was one of the oldest and largest golf tournaments in Southwest Louisiana,” said Jonathan Jester, Head Golf Pro at Mallard Golf Club. “We are thrilled to not only welcome the championship back but to also host it for the first time at the new Mallard Golf Club.”

The Championship Flight will include a 54-hole stroke play event, while the other flights will feature a 36-hole stroke play event. The entry fee of $150 covers golf fees (tournament rounds and one practice round), a tee gift, lunch on tournament days, and prizes.

Registration is now open and will remain open until Tuesday, September 6, 2022. With the exception of the Senior and Super Senior flights, all flights will be determined using the USGA handicap index. The Senior Flight is for players aged 55 to 64, while the Super Senior Flight is for golfers aged 65 and up.

More information and online registration are available by following this link. Prospective registrants can also get more information by calling (337) 491-1400.

Visitors are welcome to attend. There is no entrance price; however, spectator carts may not be available.

Mallard Golf Club is located at 3470 Morganfield Drive in Lake Charles, Louisiana 70607. The course’s unusual terrain lends itself to a fast, flat golfing play.
