42-Year-Old Louisiana Man Arrested For Allegedly Assaulting Ambulance Personnel While Being Transported After a Car Crash

Jeff Davis Parish, Louisiana – A 42-year-old Louisiana man has been arrested for allegedly assaulting ambulance personnel while being transported after a car crash.

The Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff’s Office reported on April 10, 2023, that on April 8, Deputies were summoned to the 17100 Block of Highway 26, in Jennings, Louisiana, to assist Allen Parish Ambulance Service with a hostile individual.

According to reports, when deputies arrived, they noticed two medics standing outside the ambulance. A man, later identified as Ulysses Sampson Murchison, 42, of Jennings, Louisiana, was seen standing at the ambulance’s side door entrance.

Murchison was involved in an automobile accident and was being transported by Allen Parish ambulance when he reportedly became aggressive and irate toward the medical personnel. Authorities took him from the ambulance and waited for another to arrive.

A short time later, Med Express Ambulance Service arrived on the scene and brought Ulysses Murchison to Oschner Jennings American Legion Hospital. Medical personnel evaluated Ulysses and released him from the hospital.

Ulysses was arrested for Assault on Emergency Personnel, Assault on Emergency Service personnel, and Assault on Healthcare personnel. Ulysses was booked into the Jefferson Davis Parish Jail.

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. A person is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
