34-Year-Old Louisiana Man Sentenced for Federal Drug Charges in Connection with the Distribution of Methamphetamine 

New Orleans, Louisiana – A 34-year-old Louisiana man has been sentenced for federal drug charges in connection with the distribution of methamphetamine.

On March 15, 2023, U.S. Attorney Duane A. Evans announced that Theodore Holmes, age 34, a resident of Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana, was sentenced on March 7, 2023, to 18 months imprisonment, 3 years of supervised release, and a $200 mandatory special assessment fee by U.S. District Judge Susie Morgan.

Holmes previously pled guilty to conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine in violation of Title 21, United States Code, Sections 841(a)(1), 841(b)(1)(C), and 846, as well as using a communication facility to cause or facilitate the commission of felonies under the Controlled Substances Act in violation of Title 21, United States Code, Section 843(b) and Title 18, United States Code, Section 2.

A Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) investigation indicated that Holmes was participating in a narcotics distribution conspiracy with numerous other co-conspirators between June 8, 2020, and June 5, 2021, according to court records. Holmes was a regular distributor of methamphetamine as part of the conspiracy.

The Drug Enforcement Administration and the Plaquemines Parish Sheriff’s Office investigated this case. Assistant United States Attorney J. Benjamin Myers of the Narcotics Unit handled the prosecution.
