30-Year-Old Louisiana Man Arrested After Allegedly Throwing Drugs Out the Window During a High-Speed Chase in a Stolen Vehicle

Louisiana – A Louisiana man was arrested in St John the Baptist Parish, Louisiana after failing to stop for a traffic stop and throwing drugs out of a stolen vehicle during a high-speed chase. Wooten was reportedly found in possession of marijuana, MDMA, Adderall, Oxycodone, cocaine, and a digital scale.

The St John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office revealed on December 20, 2022, that 30-year-old Victor Wooten of Pasadena, Harris County, Texas was apprehended on December 17, 2022, during a stolen vehicle investigation in which illegal substances were found.

Saturday, December 17, 2022, at approximately 11 a.m., deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop after receiving information regarding a stolen vehicle driving eastward on Airline Highway near LaPlace. On Airline Highway, the driver, later identified as Wooten, failed to stop and kept driving at a high rate of speed and recklessly through red lights. Eventually, Wooten entered the Home Depot parking lot. In the parking lot, deputies noticed goods being thrown out of the vehicle’s passenger window as the driver fled. Wooten left the parking lot and sped northbound on U.S. 51. Wooten afterward pulled over in the parking area of a gas station on U.S. 51. He exited the vehicle and was detained by police.

Officers returned to the parking area shortly thereafter. Upon arrival, authorities discovered several witnesses who lingered at the scene to protect the goods flung from the window. Several bags of marijuana, various MDMA tablets, Adderall pills, Oxycodone pills, cocaine, and a digital scale were reportedly collected by officers.

“We are grateful to these citizens who maintained visual on the drugs thrown out of the vehicle,” Sheriff Mike Tregre said. “These witnesses were cooperative and helpful. We appreciate their effort in helping officers secure this evidence.”

Wooten was charged with reckless operation of a vehicle, operating a vehicle with suspended license, no license issued, littering, illegal possession of stolen things, aggravated flight from an officer by vehicle, possession with intent to distribute schedule II CDS, obstruction of justice – tampering with evidence, prohibited acts – all schedules, prohibited acts, drug paraphernalia, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession with intent to distribute MDMA, possession with intent to distribute schedule II CDS, possession with intent to distribute schedule II CDS.

Wooten is being held in custody in lieu of a $64,000 bond.
