30-Year-Old Louisiana Felon Arrested After Authorities Reportedly Find Sawed-Off 12-Gauge Shotgun in His Possession
Jeff Davis Parish, Louisiana – A 30-year-old Louisiana felon was arrested after authorities reportedly found a sawed-off 12-gauge shotgun in his possession.
The Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff’s Office stated on April 10, 2023, that on April 5, Deputies were summoned to the 12000 block of Hill Road in Welsh, Louisiana. A neighbor contacted authorities to report a suspicious person with a flashlight fooling around with a four-wheeler.
As deputies arrived, they saw a male individual standing next to a four-wheeler on the side of the road.
Cody Marshall Frugé, 30, of Hill Road, Welsh, was identified by deputies as the subject with the four-wheeler. When deputies approached Cody, he was reportedly holding a large black nylon duffel bag.
When speaking with Cody, he placed the bag on the ground, and the Deputies noticed a brown, wooden stock of a firearm within the unzipped bag. According to authorities, the bag contained a sawed-off 12-gauge semi-automatic shotgun with a wooden pistol grip handle and no visible serial number.
Cody Fruge was arrested and booked into the parish jail for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. A person is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
