3 Suspects Have Been Arrested in Louisiana and Authorities are Seeking at Least 4 More in Connection with Multi-Month Investigation of a Narcotics Distribution Network
Baton Rouge, Louisiana – Three suspects have been arrested in Louisiana and authorities are seeking at least four more in connection with a multi-month investigation of a narcotics distribution network.
On May 3, 2023, the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office said that EBRSO Narcotics, with cooperation from multiple divisions and agencies, executed search warrants in Baton Rouge, Louisiana’s Zion City, and neighboring regions. These warrants are related to the four-month investigation of Clyde Jones Jr. and members of the Zion City Area’s street-level narcotics distribution network. Authorities reportedly performed a number of controlled purchases and takeaways from suspects in the vicinity. Several search and arrest warrants were obtained as part of this investigation.
Authorities reported that 12 firearms, more than $56,000, Fentanyl (approx. 490 lethal doses), Crack Cocaine, Powder Cocaine, Methamphetamine, heroin, 109 dosage units of Oxycodone, MDMA, Suboxone, Marijuana, Synthetic Marijuana, and paraphernalia were found and seized. There were also multiple arrests, suspect warrants are pending after EBRSO Narcotics and other agencies executed numerous warrants.
“I’m so proud and grateful for all the work these investigators have put in to combating the street-level distribution of these drugs that are a direct cause of violence in our neighborhoods,” EBR Sheriff Sid Gautreaux said. “We can link so many of our community’s violent crimes, homicides and overdoses to these types of drug-distribution groups. Our agency, particularly our Narcotics Division, is working tirelessly to eradicate these operations.”
Arrest warrants were issued for Jarvis White, 38, Larry Guerin, 30, aka “4700 Lucci”, Marvin Payne, 33 aka “Mad Marvin”, and Mathew Marchand, 48, and authorities are currently attempting to locate them.
Clyde Jones Jr., aka “King of Zion City”,39 was arrested and charged with four charges of possession with intent to distribute Schedule II, possession of Marijuana, and possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Ramarize Singleton, 46 aka “Whop” was arrested and charged with distribution of Schedule I, distribution of Schedule II, 4 counts of possession with intent to distribute Schedule II, one count of possession with intent to distribute Schedule I, possession of a Stolen Firearm, possession of a Firearm with Narcotics, and possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.
Felton Marchand 53, was arrested and charged with possession of a Stolen Firearm.
An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
Authorities indicated that more arrest warrants are likely to follow.
