29-Year-Old Louisiana Man Arrested in Connection with September 2022 Homicide in Ascension Parish
Ascension Parish, Louisiana – A 29-year-old Louisiana man has been arrested in connection with a September 2022 homicide in Ascension Parish.
Ascension Parish Sheriff Bobby Webre said on March 14, 2023, that investigators with the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested Jermaine Duperclay, 29, of Gramercy, Louisiana. Authorities have charged Duperclay with second-degree murder, illegal use of weapons, and three counts of aggravated property damage stemming from a homicide in Donaldsonville, Louisiana in September 2022.
Deputies responded to a shooting at a home on Woodland Drive in Donaldsonville on Friday, September 30, 2022. Deputies arrived to find David Washington, 31, dead in the driver’s seat of his vehicle, with several gunshot wounds. APSO Violent Crimes Unit detectives identified Duperclay as a suspect throughout their investigation and issued a warrant for his arrest on
Duperclay was located at the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on March 13 being held on separate charges. He was transported and booked into the Ascension Parish Jail.
An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. A person is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
