27-Year-Old Louisiana Man Faces Mandatory Life Sentence After Being Convicted of First-Degree Murder and Other Charges

Lake Charles, Louisiana – A 27-year-old Louisiana man now faces a mandatory life sentence after being convicted of first-degree murder and other charges.

The Calcasieu Parish District Attorney’s Office reported on April 21, 2023, that Jermaine Washington, Jr., 27, of Lake Charles, Louisiana, was found guilty of First Degree Murder and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon on April 20.

According to reports, Washington was hired to kill a person in 2018. Washington then planned ahead of time and fatally shot the victim.

Washington is facing a mandatory life sentence without the possibility of probation, parole, or sentence suspension. Sentencing will take place on July 21, 2023, before Judge Robert Wyatt.

Calcasieu Parish District Attorney’s Office Assistant District Attorneys Charles Robinson, Conrad Huber, and Precious Anderson prosecuted the case.
