26-Year-Old Louisiana Woman Killed in Crash After Driving Off US 167 and Colliding with a Culverth

Union Parish, Louisiana – A 26-year-old Louisiana woman was killed in a crash after driving off of US 167 and colliding with a culvert.

On March 12, 2023, Louisiana State Police (LSP) reported that at 9:15 a.m., LSP Troop F responded to a single-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 167 at Louisiana Highway 15. Gabrielle Lana Crockett, 26, of Alexandria, Louisiana, was killed in the crash.

Crockett was driving north in the southbound lane of US Highway 167 in a 2012 Honda CRV, according to a preliminary inquiry. Her vehicle exited the highway and collided with a culvert for unknown reasons.

Crockett, who was restrained at the moment of the crash, died as a result of her injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Union Parish Coroner’s Office. For analysis, routine toxicological samples were submitted.

This crash is still being investigated.

Although the specific reason for the incident is still being investigated, Troopers want to warn the public that inattentive and distracted driving is dangerous and a top cause of crashes in our state. To stay alert, motorists must pay attention to what is going on outside of the vehicle they are driving and get plenty of rest.

Louisiana State Police Troop F has investigated seven fatal crashes in 2023, resulting in eight fatalities.
