25-Year-Old Louisiana Man Charged with Second-Degree Murder After He was Found Standing on the Throat of His Aunt

LaPlace, Louisiana – A 25-year-old Louisiana man has been charged with second-degree murder after he was found standing on the throat of his 57-year-old aunt, Suzanne Robinson, at their LaPlace home.

On January 12, 2023, the St John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office reported that on January 10, 2023, a LaPlace, Louisiana man was arrested in connection with the death of his aunt at their Janice Lane home in LaPlace.

In the death of Suzanne Robinson, 57, Christian Robinson, 25, has been charged with second-degree murder.

Deputies came to Robinson’s residence in the 500 block of Janice Lane in relation to a disturbance on January 10, 2023, around 11:30 a.m. Officers arrived at the property and found a male suspect described as Christian Robinson standing in a bedroom with his foot on the throat of a woman identified as his aunt Suzanne Robinson.
Officers told Robinson to take his foot out of her throat, but he disregarded all spoken directions. Officers then tased Robinson, causing him to remove his foot before arresting him. Officers found Suzanne Robinson unresponsive. They immediately initiated medical treatment, but Suzanne Robinson died as a result of her injuries.

Officers discovered that Suzanne Robinson and her nephew, Christian Robinson, got into a dispute that ended with his standing on her throat, leading to her death. In lieu of a $500,000 bond, he is being kept in custody.
