25-Year-Old Louisiana Driver Killed in Two-Vehicle Head-On Crash on LA 3235 in Lafourche Parish
Lafourche Parish, Louisiana – A 25-year-old Louisiana driver was killed in a two-vehicle head-on crash on LA 3235 in Lafourche Parish.
Louisiana State Police (LSP) stated on March 31, 2023, that on March 30, soon before 7:00 a.m., LSP Troop C was notified of a two-vehicle fatality crash on Louisiana Highway 24 about one mile north of Louisiana Highway 3235. Ediberto Lopez-Bados, 25, of Larose, Louisiana, was killed in the crash.
The early inquiry found Lopez-Bados was driving a 2011 Nissan Altima north on Louisiana Highway 24. The Altima reportedly crossed the centerline and collided head-on with a southbound 2018 Mack truck for unknown reasons. Following the collision, both vehicles veered off the road and into a small drainage canal.
Despite being securely restrained, Lopez-Bados suffered severe injuries and died at the scene. The Mack’s driver, who was also restrained, received minor injuries and was sent to a local hospital for treatment.
A standard toxicological sample was collected from both drivers and submitted for processing. This crash is still being investigated.
Louisiana State Police said that when behind the wheel of a vehicle, drivers should always make cautious decisions. A motorist can respond swiftly to any unforeseen problems on the road by remaining awake and focused by avoiding distracted, fatigued, and impaired driving.
So far in 2023, Troop C has investigated 7 fatal crashes that resulted in 8 fatalities.
