24-Year-Old Louisiana Man Arrested After Police Reportedly Find Over Fifty Pounds of Marijuana and a Fully Automatic Firearm While Executing Search Warrant

Shreveport, Louisiana – A 24-year-old Louisiana man has been arrested after police reportedly found over fifty pounds of marijuana and a fully automatic firearm while executing a search warrant.

The Shreveport Police Department reported on April 19, 2023, that on April 17, Shreveport Police Violent Crimes Abatement Team members and Caddo Parish Sheriff’s deputies executed a search warrant in the 3100 block of Knight Street. According to authorities, during this investigation, Montrey McNeil, 24, was found to be in possession of a firearm and over fifty pounds of marijuana.

A subsequent investigation reportedly found that the firearm had been converted to be fully automatic. It was also discovered that McNeil was forbidden from possessing a firearm since he was a convicted felon for prior violent offenses.

The firearm was seized by the agents, and McNeil was arrested and charged with one count of being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, one count of possession of Schedule One with intent to distribute, one count of possession of a firearm with a controlled dangerous substance, and one count of possession of a Machine Gun.

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. A person is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
