21-Year-Old Leesville Man Arrested After Allegedly Firing Gunshots Toward a Group of People and Striking a Vehicle During an Altercation

Leesville, Louisiana – A 21-year-old man from Leesville was arrested after allegedly firing gunshots toward a group of people and striking a vehicle during an altercation.

The Leesville Police Department reported on May 31, 2023, that on May 9, at around 9:35 p.m., officers responded to a report of gunfire in the area of West Maggie Street. When the officers got on the scene, they reportedly discovered evidence indicating that gunshots had been fired in the area, including a vehicle that had been damaged by gunfire.

The Criminal Investigations Unit was called and arrived on the scene, and  Quentin Booker, 21, of Leesville, Louisiana, was identified as the suspect during the initial inquiry.

Police responded to a disturbance incident at the Vernon Trace Circle apartments a few hours later. During that call, officers made contact with Booker, who was taken into custody for a warrant unrelated to this incident and booked into the Vernon Parish jail.

Additional research into the Maggie Street shooting found that Quentin Booker had been at the apartments on the evening of May 9, 2023, and had become upset with another male in the vicinity. Before leaving the apartments, Booker reportedly discharged a gun at a gathering of people and then fled the scene.

Booker was charged on May 11, 2023, with two charges of Aggravated Assault with a Firearm, one count of Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property, and one case of Illegal Use of Weapons or Dangerous Instruments. He is currently being held at the Vernon Parish Jail.
