Lake Charles Mardi Gras 2024 Parades and Routes
Lake Charles, Louisiana – On Sunday, February 4th, at 1 p.m., the Lake Charles Mardi Gras Parade will be held. The parade will begin at the Lake Charles Event Center and proceed along Broad Street. It will then turn onto Shattuck Street, followed by Belden Street, and finally Ryan Street. After that, the parade will turn onto Pine Street and head back to the Event Center.
The Mardi Gras of SWLA Merchants’ Parade will take place at 7 p.m. on Friday, February 9, using the Ryan Street Parade Route. The Mardi Gras Children’s Parade is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Sunday, February 19, with the time for the 2024 Children’s Parade has been changed to accommodate Super Bowl Sunday. The Lake Charles Mardi Gras of SWLA Krewe of Krewes Parade will start at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, February 13.
All of these parades will start at the north end of Bord du Lac Drive, cross Lakeshore Drive onto Pine Street, turn right onto Ryan Street, and continue south on Ryan Street until they reach Sale Road, where the parades will conclude.
Additional Parades Taking Place During Mardi Gras 2024 Weekend
The Lake Charles Children’s Mardi Gras Stroll, organized by the City of Lake Charles, will happen on First Avenue at 10 a.m. on Saturday, February 10. This special parade is exclusively for kids and will start at the LCB Cougar Stadium parking lot on 1st Avenue. It will continue down 1st Avenue from 4th Street to 8th Street and then return to the parking lot. Children are encouraged to personalize their own umbrellas to showcase during this parade, which is free of charge to participate in.
The Lake Charles Krewe of Barkus Parade, organized by Cumulus Broadcasting, is scheduled to happen at 1 p.m. on Saturday, February 10th. The parade will commence at the intersection of Broad and Ryan Streets and proceed along Broad Street until it reaches Hodges Street. It will conclude at Cumulus Broadcasting located at 425 Broad St.
After the Barkus Parade, the Lake Charles Krewe of Omega Parade will take place on Saturday, February 10th, at 2 p.m. The parade will start at the Lake Charles Event Center and follow Broad Street until it reaches Enterprise Boulevard. Then, it will turn onto Mill Street and return to the Lake Charles Event Center.
The Lake Charles Second Line Stroll Walking Parade of Mardi Gras SWLA will take place on Tuesday, February 13. It will start at Pine and Ryan Streets and go south on Ryan Street until it reaches Dr. DeBakey Drive. The Jeeps on Parade will start at 2:30 p.m. on Ryan Street, starting from Pine Street and ending at Sale Road. Lastly, the Motor Gras Parade will begin at 3 p.m. on Mardi Gras Day, starting at Pine and Ryan Streets and heading south until it reaches Sale Road.
