The City of Lake Charles announced that the Mayor’s Armed Forces Commission would conduct a “National Vietnam War Veterans Day” event on Saturday, March 25, at 10 a.m., in Veterans Memorial Park, located on the north side of the Civic Center grounds.

The event will honor US Armed Forces Vietnam War Veterans and will include guest speaker Theodore Thompson, Lieutenant Colonel, US Army (retired).
Following the program, members of the Mayor’s Armed Forces Commission will present official 50th Commemoration pins to all Vietnam Veterans in attendance.

Following the service, refreshments will be served, and the public is welcome to attend. In the event of adverse weather, the ceremony will be conducted at American Legion Post 1, 1530 9th St. in Lake Charles.
