2019 Louisiana Pirate Festival Poster Design Contest
Organizers of the annual Louisiana Pirate Festival in Lake Charles are asking for local artists to submit entries for their poster design contest. The Louisiana Pirate Festival, formerly known as Contraband Days, will take place May 2-5 this year. The poster design contest is open to artists of all levels (professional, amateur and student), there is no entry fee to participate, and the winner will receive a $200 prize.
Entries for the 2019 Louisiana Pirate Festival Poster Design Contest must be received by Noon, Thursday, March 21, 2019. Digital entries can be emailed to [email protected]. Participants can also mail or deliver original artwork to the Southwest Louisiana Convention & Visitors Bureau, located at 1205 N. Lakeshore Dr., Lake Charles, LA 70601. ELIGIBILITY
Open to all artists (professional, amateur and student). Minors who enter must have the written consent of a parent or legal guardian in order to be eligible to receive any prizes.

ENTRY FORM & DEADLINE FOR ENTRIES
Entries must be received by Noon, Thursday, March 21, 2019. Email digital entries to [email protected] or mail/deliver original artwork to the Southwest Louisiana Convention & Visitors Bureau, 1205 N. Lakeshore Dr., Lake Charles, LA 70601. If you do not receive a confirmation that your entry was received, please call (337) 436-9588 or email [email protected] to confirm.
AWARD
Winner will receive $200.
ELIGIBLE WORK
All traditional artwork must be original. Digital artwork must be submitted as a high-resolution (at least 300 dpi) pdf, on a disc, flash drive, or emailed to [email protected] with a copy of this entry form.
SPECIFICATIONS FOR PRESENTATION
Finished size will be printed 18”x24”. Please submit your design with 1/8” bleed on all 4 sides submitted as a high-resolution .pdf file. The original artwork of the winning poster design will be auctioned. Do not include an artist’s signature on the design (winning artist will be asked to sign upon notification of winning). Final poster details are subject to review and possible modification request by the festival committee. Artists may submit more than one design but must do so with separate submission forms.

POSTER SALES & RETENTION OF DESIGNS
The winning entry becomes the exclusive property of the Louisiana Pirate Festival. All proceeds from the sale of prints of the winning design go to the festival. The Louisiana Pirate Festival has exclusive rights to the reproduction of winning entries and the submitting artist relinquishes all rights to such design.
PUBLICITY AND AGREEMENT
Entering this contest constitutes an agreement by the winning artist to relinquish all copyrights to the submitted work to the festival, and to appear as requested by the festival for publicity purposes. Winning artist must be available for official presentation, to be made at the press conference at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at Southwest Louisiana Convention & Visitors Bureau.
