St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana – A 20-year-old suspect has been arrested in connection with a deadly March 18 shooting in Louisiana.

Karneilius Coleman, 20, of New Orleans, Louisiana, was apprehended on March 31 in the New Orleans region with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Apprehension Task Force and the ATF, according to the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Coleman was booked into the Orleans Parish Prison Friday afternoon as a fugitive on an unrelated warrant filed by Kenner Police. A hold was placed on him Friday evening by the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office on a warrant for one count of Second-degree Murder.

This warrant was issued in connection with a deadly shooting on Brittany Drive in the Briar Lake area of Lacombe, Louisiana on March 18. The ATF aided the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office in the investigation that led to Coleman’s arrest warrant.

St. Tammany Parish Sheriff Randy Smith commended the Marshal’s Service, ATF, and investigators from the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit for their assistance with the investigation.
