17-Year-Old Sulphur High School Student Arrested on Terrorizing Charges After Allegedly Making Threats on Social Media

Sulphur, Louisiana – The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office reported on August 29, 2022, that on Sunday, August 28, CPSO deputies responded to a call about a student at Sulphur High School making alleged threats on social media to shoot other students at the school.

During the initial investigation, officers discovered that the 17-year-old had threatened to carry out the shooting on a specific day of the week, but had not specified whether it would take place on school grounds. Following additional investigation, police interviewed the 17-year-old, who was arrested and booked into the Juvenile Detention Center on terrorizing charges.

CPSO Detective Roger Pete is the lead detective on this case.

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. A person is innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
