16-Year-Old Suspect Arrested in Louisiana in Connection with the Shooting Death of Another Juvenile

Ascension Parish, Louisiana – A 16-year-old suspect has been arrested in Louisiana in connection with the shooting death of another juvenile.

Detectives have arrested a 16-year-old in connection with Treylon Brown’s death, according to Ascension Parish Sheriff Bobby Webre. He is charged with first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, illegal use of weapons, illegal possession of a handgun by a juvenile, and aggravated criminal property damage.

Deputies responded to a shooting along Highway 22 in Darrow on Sunday, March 12. Deputies arrived to find Treylon Brown, 15, dead from several gunshot wounds. A second juvenile victim was also hit by gunshots and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Detectives identified the juvenile suspect and obtained an arrest warrant for him during their investigation.

The juvenile suspect surrendered on Friday, March 17, accompanied by family members. He was transported to the St. Benard Parish Juvenile Detention Center after being arrested.

Authorities indicated that this is an ongoing investigation, and additional arrests may be made.

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. A person is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
