1 Suspect Arrested for Lake Charles Armed Robbery, Authorities Searching for 2nd Suspect

One man has been arrested, and authorities are searching for another in connection with an armed robbery in Lake Charles.

Lake Charles, LA – Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched on October 11, 2021, at approximately 11:00 p.m. in response to an alleged armed robbery on Decker Street in Lake Charles, LA.
During the investigation, the victim told deputies that he had been robbed at gunpoint by a man. The suspect was later found to be Lydell Joseph, 21, of Lake Charles, LA. Another black male was also there during the robbery, according to the victim. Inside the victim’s truck, the suspects stole a 12 gauge shotgun, a.22 rifle, and $300 in cash. Following further investigation, CPSO investigators issued a warrant for Joseph’s arrest on November 4th, which was signed by Judge Derrick Kee.

On November 9, 2021, detectives located Joseph and he was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with armed robbery; 2 counts of theft of a firearm; and theft less than $1,000. His bond is set at $56,000.

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. A person is innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
